“I am so upset with the brain spa. I am in a very difficult situation as I’ve not received my paycheck which has never happened before and can’t afford my appointment as I do not have insurance. I am out of my medication, one that’s very dangerous to just quit taking and could cause seriously damaging effects to myself and my life. Tina Raye is absolutely amazing. Unfortunately, instead of the “manager” understanding my last minute predicament and need for a week of medication (7 pills, not controlled) until I receive a loan to pay my bills, buy groceries for my kids, and pay for an appointment, I was told I’d be charged $75 for a last minute (24hrs prior) cancellation penalty and no short refill. I was told to go to urgent care which I had just told her I cannot afford. Talk about kicking someone when they’re already down. I will no longer go there and they will never get $75 from me for that kind of callousness and no service. Clearly, they care about money, not patients. I’m thoroughly disgusted and advise anyone considering this place to find somewhere else. I am putting my name in public to make sure nobody else receives this kind of treatment. Apparently the responder to my review is also illiterate. I normally have no issues paying for my appointments as I’ve been a patient for more than 2-3 years as this responder knows. This could not have been foreseen as I stated, this has NEVER happened to me before. My medication helps with my physical disability. I’m in a serious situation that requires I be able to function but thanks to the brain spa, my situation has only become much worse and downright dangerous because I will now be detoxing cold off of a very serious medication with no ability to pay for services elsewhere. A week of compassion until my loan came through was all I asked for and this was the response. As you can clearly see, they attack their mental health patients for their own unprofessionalism and downright cruelty. DO NO HARM. You are in the wrong business.”

“Ive found that I chose the right place for therapy. Nina is my therapist and she is calm, friendly, and open to discussing different topics. Dr. Barias is the owner and psychiatrist. He is warm and friendly to all and will help, if needed. The staff is friendly. Say “hello” to Tyler!”

“I started seeing Dr. Edward Barias four years ago or more. I'm a difficult case to manage, with behaviors inherent to my emotional and psychological state, such as procrastination, forgetting appointments, running out of important medications, and feeling attacked and misunderstood by policy changes (new rules dictated by the DEA, which are logical and understandable). When I'm in crisis and demand solutions, it makes the work of the entire team difficult and even impossible. Dr. Barias is an excellent professional and human being, even in my worst moments of anger, neglect, and frustration, he has been empathetic and understanding, responding and supporting me with alternative solutions. Regarding the provider changes, I've never felt like I was in the wrong hands (I'm a psychologist). Customer service has always, without exception, treated me with courtesy, patience, professionalism, and understanding. Has anyone considered what it's like to receive and handle calls from a bunch of irritated, sad, frustrated, moody, demanding, and urgent people? It's not easy. I thank Dr. Edward Barias, Dr. Tina, and nurse psychiatrist Jennifer, and all the staff (I apologize for not remembering your names). Mental health is a team effort that begins with us. We know a lot about the anatomy, function, and cells of the brain but how neurons behave, the synapses between them, the why, the when, and the how are still a mystery. The chemistry of our brains is unique and singular. I dare say it's our duty to document our behaviors and reactions to medications, situations, and circumstances and share them with our mental health provider. It's not easy to erase traumas, complexes, manage obsessive-compulsive disorder, social phobia, insomnia, anxiety, depression, insecurity, panic attacks, analysis paralysis, guilt, stress, abuse, lack of self-esteem, learn to love and respect ourselves, deal with dark and negative thoughts, manias, phobias, and addictions. We take all these burdens to the psychiatrist/psychologist and wait for a quick, effective, and miraculously perfect solution. I thank The Brain Spa for being with me in this battle.”

“Nicholas Greco deserves more than just 5 stars! He deserves a shooting star! Haha. The Brain Spa has a warm comfort and kind staff. Best place I've every experiened regardless of it being for doctor appointments. Minimum wait if any. Always treated with respect and genuine concern/care. I was lucky to meet Greco on a zoom meeting randomly when I was not at my best. Eventually saw him in person, he WANTS TO HELP AND DOES! You can hear it in his voice, see it in his posture!
