What patients say on Google

My psychiatrist at Elite DNA is Dr. Weinberg. I have worked with him for a while. I like that he is straightforward and will still listen and work with his clients. I’ve always appreciated his objectivity. If you want someone that will just give you the drugs you want, he is not for you. If you want someone to make a plan for you based on objective information you will like him. 5 stars for sure!

The interaction started off well. They were quick to make contact after the referral, which is the only reason I gave two stars instead of one. After that, everything fell apart. We waited a month for a psychiatry appointment, only to have it cancelled by text message. Then, to make matters worse, the text instructed us to contact them to reschedule. That is unacceptable. If they cancel an appointment after a month-long wait, the burden should not fall on the patient to chase them down. I then went to the website to reschedule, only to discover that existing patients must use the patient portal. Unfortunately, they never set up our portal access, so scheduling was impossible. Overall, this was a frustrating administrative mess. Prompt initial contact does not make up for poor follow-through, lack of organization, and making parents jump through hoops after the office cancels their child's appointment.

They don't answer their phone. They don't return messages before they leave for the day. The last visit, the doctor was late. My child had a therapy appointment yesterday through a different location and I uploaded the new insurance cards which weren't reviewed yet, and the system was trying to make me self-pay and wouldn't let me upload the cards. Which I went ahead and tried to do just to get things through and make the appointment since I wasn't getting through to anybody by phone. Of course the system crashed and wouldn't take the payment. I get a text well in the wait room for telehealth saying to reach out to the OP office. I explained they're not answering the phone and I'm told that they're going to reach out to me but the office is closed. I've literally wasted over an hour on the phone today trying to deal with this, but had no issues with the therapy appointment yesterday.

I went in today for the first time to meet my nurse practitioner and discuss my concerns to hopefully get on medication. On first impression I felt totally ignored and I felt like she barely even looked at me. We sat down to discuss my concerns and I felt like I was not being heard and like she wasn’t very interested in hearing about my history with mental health. About halfway through the appointment she kept “getting distracted” by messages on her computer and kept saying she “couldn’t multitask.” She paused our whole conversation to answer messages on her computer and then started texting on her phone. She laughed it off and said she would get better at multitasking eventually. By the end of our appointment I had a few questions about scheduling and as I was asking her a question she was typing on her computer and then asked me to repeat myself due to her not being able to “multitask” again. I feel like this is the only place I need to feel heard after struggling with mental health for so long and all it did was make me feel even worse about myself and like I didn’t matter.
