“Hi new patient here. I honestly read the reviews before I went in for my appointment, and was very scared that I was going to brushed off and taken off my current meds. But I have to say for anyone new waiting and wanting a mental health evaluation. Please go in with an open mind. The front staff all smiles and all were very accommodating to me. The building is huge n clean, n has nice chairs to wait in. But my biggest point of this review also I got paired with Dr. Neal Patel and he was kind, gentle convos, never once made me feel bad. This doctor gave me for the 1st time true hope, that I can get better and be a better person. Everything he said was so sincere. I do feel bad for all the bad reviews fbh got. I know everyone has good and bad days. But all I think is have an open mind and a prayer. And you can have a good experience. I'm sorry for the ones who didn't, but every day is a new chance for new beginnings.”

“I LOVE Dr. Shah soooo much but do NOT like the operation of this office. I am a self pay patient after losing my insurance last year and they REFUSED to let me schedule my appt (even a week or two out) without paying the self pay rate in full. Now I have to wait almost 2 weeks (without my medication mind you) because I didnt get paid until today and called to make my appt and payment and was told I could schedule over a week out and pay closer to my appt. BUT their office called me MULTIPLE times a day to inquire about scheduling me, even after I would inform them of my situation. Not ONE person said, we can schedule you now. Wish I would've been told the correct information weeks ago and I could have had an appt on the books. I feel as if they are very disorganized here, and if it wasn't for Dr. Shah being so awesome I would not give this place another dollar of my money. An office staff can really ruin a practice, no matter how good the doctor is.”

“I’ve been a patient at Florida Behavioral Medicine for many years, but my recent experience has been deeply disappointing. In 2023, after a traumatic incident, I confided in my provider about a sexual assault even before reporting it to the police. Recently, I requested a copy of the provider notes from that time to forward to my attorney, hoping to aid the ongoing investigation. Unfortunately, the front desk refused to release these notes, despite assurances from the office manager that they would be sent. Even after leaving messages and requesting written documentation of their policies, I was met with silence and evasion. This lack of cooperation felt not just unprofessional but deeply hurtful, as if they were prioritizing shielding the perpetrator over supporting a victim. I wanted to give an update. This provider did end up sending the necessary documents to my attorney for which I am very grateful. I did increase my rating because of this. However, it was a very stressful and convoluted process that created a lot of unnecessary stress for my and increased my ptsd symptoms for an entire month. So I still was no completely thrilled with the administrative process I experienced. I will say I have been very happy with all of the providers I've seen”

“I've never posted anything this negative in my life but it needs to be done to protect other people. Had a new appointment and was sent to the wrong location. Drove 30 minutes to the other location and waited nearly 45 minutes (doctor was busy listening to a sales pitch from a pharmaceutical rep) past the new scheduled appointment for one of the most worst medical/psych consultations I've ever had. Doctor had absolutely zero concern for my existing conditions, asked me nonsense, boilerplate questions and casually suggested an awful medication choice and refused to prescribe me a working and important medication I've taken for years which could have been taken care of with a brief clinical discussion. Undoubtedly because they wanted to get me to pay them for a completely unnecessary longer evaluation. I told them to simply ask my last doctor for my records so they could see the diagnosis. The office had no idea how to get records from another doctor and told me I had to bring them. INSANE. Stop playing stupid games with people's health. NO ONE should be going here for any reason - if this experience was typical , they just want your money and your health is meaningless.”
